Synopsis
When headstrong heiress Eve Mannering defies her guardian to marry the charming but mysterious Eric Durand, she soon discovers her new husband is a philandering murderer who killed an investigator to hide his dark past. Fleeing to British India with her life in danger, Eve finds refuge with Colonel John Beetham, an old family friend who has secretly loved her for years, as Scotland Yard detective Sir Frederick Bruce pursues the truth with help from Inspector Charlie Chan in this early talkie that launched the legendary detective's film career.
