Synopsis
After fighting for the Confederacy during the Civil War, brothers Jesse and Frank James return to Missouri dreaming of peaceful farm life, but harassment from Union sympathizers and economic hardship drive them to assemble a gang of outlaws who rob banks and trains, transforming them into folk heroes while Jesse struggles between his love for sweetheart Zee and his addiction to the dangerous, lucrative outlaw lifestyle that will ultimately lead to his tragic downfall.
