Synopsis
After their Army buddy Eddie Smith dies in World War I, bumbling veterans Stan and Ollie return home determined to honor their promise to rescue his orphaned daughter from an abusive foster home and reunite her with Eddie's family. Armed with only the common surname "Smith" and a big city full of wrong addresses, the well-meaning duo stumbles through a series of mistaken identities and comedic catastrophes while dodging child welfare officers and accidentally disrupting weddings, all while trying to keep their precious charge safe and find her a loving home.
