Rembrandt
Synopsis
At the height of his fame as Amsterdam's most celebrated painter, Rembrandt van Rijn's world crumbles when his beloved wife Saskia dies unexpectedly, triggering a dramatic shift in his art toward darker, more emotionally raw expressions that alienate his wealthy patrons. As he spirals into financial ruin and social exile, he finds solace in the arms of his devoted maid Hendrickje, whose love reignites his passion for both life and art, but their scandalous relationship threatens to destroy what little reputation he has left in this intimate portrait of genius, love, and the price of artistic integrity.
