The Hunley
Synopsis
In the dying days of the Confederate cause during the 1864 siege of Charleston, Lieutenant George Dixon assembles a desperate crew of nine volunteers to pilot the experimental CSS Hunley—a deadly hand-cranked submarine built from a steam boiler. With previous crews having perished in the cramped iron coffin, Dixon must overcome mechanical failures, crew tensions, and his own haunting memories of war to break the Union naval blockade. Their target: the mighty USS Housatonic. Their mission: to become the first submarine in history to sink an enemy warship, knowing full well they may never return to see the dawn.
